Kyoto is one of the grids of Japan. It serves as the opening setting for the Japan Arc.
Overview[]
Kyoto is the grid where Naoto Miura lived. Its population is 20 million people and it's administrated by the Army. The grid's Core Tower possesses 27 underground floors, each of which controls a specific portion of the grid's mechanical features. The grid itself is very large and entwined with numerous other grids. Any structural damage would affect not only Japan, but the entirety of Asia.
History[]
The Core Tower in Kyoto has a gravitational malfunction deemed irreparable by the Army. While the Meister Guild is trying to find the malfunction and fix it, Kyoto is secretly scheduled to be purged. As time runs out, Meister Guild HQ sends commands for Marie and her team to pull out. While Marie is dissatisfied by this, she has no choice but to obey.
Shortly, she meets Naoto and his automata, RyuZU. After some conversation, they agreed to go to the Core Tower and fix its malfunction. They break in with RyuZU's abilities. The other Meisters are able to fend off the Army and make the repairs, though the Army tries to purge the grid anyway to save face. Using RyuZU's Imaginary Gear, Naoto and Marie are able to reverse gravity and save the grid. The Army is publicly discredited through this while the citizens of Kyoto are saved.
Places[]
Naoto Miura's Residence[]
The apartment on Floor 1 of the Underground where Naoto Miura lives. It collapsed after RyuZU's YD-01 container fell on it and caused irreparable structural damage.
Tadasu no Mori High School[]
It is the school run by the local ward that Naoto Miura attends. It is located on the banks of the Kamogawa Delta upstream from Naoto's former residence, where the Takanogawa and Kamogawa Rivers meet. RyuZU, and Marie Bell Breguet transfer in as students. Vainney Halter transfers in as a teacher.
The Uh-huh[]
The cheapest love hotel in Kyoto that RyuZU recommended to Naoto as a place to stay. It is cheap and covers all amenities.
Manga Cafe[]
The place where Naoto and RyuZU stay after Naoto refused to stay at a love hotel. As befitting of a manga cafe, it contains a small mountain worth of manga and magazines.
Flowery Clothes Boutique[]
The shop aimed at young women where Naoto and RyuZU go shopping for clothes for the latter. It is located in Kyoto's Shopping District and owned by one female proprietor. Due to a misunderstanding involving RyuZU, the latter kicks Naoto and RyuZU out after catching him tuning up RyuZU in a changeroom.
Beauty Salon[]
The beauty salon that cleans Naoto at RyuZU's insistence to make him look more upstanding. To the uneducated, it will appear to be a barber shop.
Burger Shop[]
Located on Shijou Street in Kyoto's Shopping District. It serves burgers.
Central Hotel[]
The hotel where Limons Vacheron stayed during the Japan Arc. It is also the place where Naoto and RyuZU meet Marie and Halter. The lobby on the first floor is somewhat like a mall. The left side were boutiques and brand-name shops, with the right lined by fine-dining restaurants.
Core Tower[]
24th Floor of the Underground[]
The underground floor controlling atmospheric pressure and gravity. This is where the malfunctions are discovered.
