Vainney Halter (ヴァイネイ・ハルター, Vu~ainei Harutā) is one of main characters in Clockwork Planet. He is Marie's bodyguard.
Personality
Vainney is very loyal to Marie.
Appearance
Vainney is an almost bald and hulking guy with height over 2m. He wears a red shirt and a light pink suit with the right sleeve is rolled up to his elbow. He also wears a pair of black gloves and a sunglass.
Abilities
Vainney is an 8th generation mechanized human. This makes his strength far beyond that of any ordinary human, he can destroy some guard automata relatively easily.
Character History
Vainney Halter came to Kyoto with Marie's team in order to fix the malfunction in Kyoto's Core Tower. The team arrived in Kyoto and started to locate the malfunction. Marie suspects something is not right because the Army didn't interfere with their work. After interrogating Ryouji Niijima, they learn that Kyoto will be purged. When the team heard this, they felt despair, but they were encouraged by Marie. After hours of work, they still didn't locate the malfunction, and then Vainney came with an order of retreat from Meister Guild HQ. Vainney followed Marie when she confront Limons about the order. When Marie was stripped of her authority as a meister and reacted angrily, Vainney calmed her down after she punched him several times. While they were thinking of a way to go back to the core tower, they met RyuZU and Naoto Miura.
When Marie threatened Naoto to return RyuZU to her, Vainney instinctively pointed his gun towards Naoto. His actions proved to be correct because RyuZU was directing her scythe towards Marie's neck. Vainney trying to calm the atmosphere by putting his gun down and apologize for Marie's behavior. When Naoto and RyuZU agreed to help Marie, they were planning to go to Core Tower by car. When they came near the core tower, they were attacked by a large amount of automata but those automata was easily destroyed by RyuZU and Vainney. After the attacks, Vainney tricked Limons into believing that Mari Bell Breguet was killed. He then shoots Marie's Chrono Compass, shattering it into pieces. After that, they arrived at the core tower.
